✍ Last minute wig cap save! ✍
Making a wig requires a lot of work, but the end product is worthwhile. There is no guarantee that a pre-made cap will suit you, even though you can always sew or breathe the fibers onto one.
You can have a solid foundation that is tailored to fit you properly if you make your wig cap. But for that, you'll either require a wig head that is specially made for you or one that you can alter to fit your specifications. The wig cap can be too tiny if you base your design on a regular wig head!
So here is a quick guide on how to make your wig cap at home!
➊ Measure Your Head ➊
To wear your hair under the wig, pull it back in the same manner. While some people prefer cornrows, others enjoy making one or two French braids. It's crucial to braid your hair now because it will determine the wig cap's size and shape.
To customize the wig head, you must take a mold of your head. The wig cap won't fit properly if you don't do this.
You can skip this section and continue by reading here if you already have a customized head for making wigs that is the same size as your head.
➋ Stocking Cutting ➋
Put on an old pair of stockings that you have on hand. Before you cut the stocking, be sure to position it correctly and make any necessary adjustments to ensure your comfort.
After that, you knot the stocking at the top to make sure it is securely fastened. It's time to trim the extra pieces, so get the scissors. Avoid over-cutting it because you might want to cut it even more.
You can sew it in if you don't want a knot in your wig hat. After cutting, you stitch the cap together using a needle and thread strand.
➌ Tightening The Knot ➌
The cap can now be removed and turned inside out. Make sure your knot is tight. You won't be able to see your hair below the hat once it is on your head because it lays smoothly. Your wig will also lay flat and nicely after you put it on.
And that's it! ♡
This, in our opinion, is the quickest and most straightforward method for creating a wig cap. Let's make something new and helpful out of your worn-out and outdated stockings. I hope this helps and see you next Monday!
