☛ Welcome Back ☚
If you are here that means you either found an old wig in your cosplayer stash and want to use it or just want to do a fellow cosplayer a favor! And taking care of a synthetic wig is not the same as taking care of your real hair or a lace wig, you need products that can work on fabric!
Worry not! I know your wig looks super entangled and it feels like its time has come but...wait! You can do something about it ❣
Here is a quick easy method to detangle and restore your synthetic wig.
You will need:
✦ Entangle Wig
✦ Wig Stand https://amzn.to/3T7B9ZM
✦ Wide-tooth comb/ (or wig comb) https://amzn.to/3UoSIW3
✦ Oil/Lube/or Wig Conditioner/Mousse (Bundle Shampoo/Conditioner for $15: https://amzn.to/3hfFhd3)
✦ Fabric Softener/White Vinegar, Warm Water & Baking Soda (Baking Soda: https://amzn.to/3NIiUck / Softener: https://amzn.to/3WqG7Ul)
➊ Set Up
Place the wig on the stand. You can choose to use oil, lube, or wig conditioner/mousse. If you don't have this you can make a quick mix (I will teach you how in the next step). If the wig is super entangled you probably need to do the next step, if not, you can go ahead and start at step 3.
Use the oil/lube on the wig. Place it on your hands and carefully spread it along the hair from top to bottom. Try not to touch the wig cap. Start detangling strand by strand, up to down. Once you finish all the wigs it is time to brush it.
If you didn't need to use the lube/oil because it was not super entangled, the next step it's the spray conditioner. Spray all over the wig and brush it carefully. You might need to separate the layers to work on them to avoid shedding.
Sounds nice, right? But for the wig of course! Fill the sink with warm water. Carefully place the wig sideways. Try to avoid mixing or moving it too much so it doesn't entangle again. And at this point you have two options:
Add the softener to the water and clean/detangle the wig.
White Vinegar & Baking Soda
Or add a mix of vinegar and baking soda instead of the softener. They will have the same effect of cleaning and refreshing the fibers.
Place the wig back on the strand. You can brush it carefully and blow dry it on the cold setting/no heat. Or let it dry on the stand for at least 24 hours.

And that's it! ♡
You have to wait until it's dry and you can wear it and style it again! If you see it's almost impossible to detangle maybe it's time to check our New In section and get another one ♡ See you next Monday!
